• ONA Hub, a multi-site management and reporting platform covering site operations and learning module tracking, with permissions scoped per cafe and per staff member.
  • Grounded AI assistant over manuals, SOPs and video content, returning answers specific to a user's equipment, site and role rather than generic documentation.
  • ONA Academy, a barista upskilling platform with learning catalogue, completion tracking and engagement reporting.
• ONA Budgeting, a spend and forecasting tool for store managers.
  • Live data pulls from Square and Xero with predictive earnings analysis and forecast modelling, giving managers visibility on spend against income.

Founding E-learning Director / Engineer, full time

Led AI education, creative direction and built internal tooling for automated and scalable AI upskilling.

• Designed, wrote and built public thought leadership sites end to end, including State of AI and State of Claude, both with automated daily audit and update.
• Designed and built change management resources: the AI Change Management Guide and AI Champions Playbook.
• Built multiple full AI courses end to end: syllabus, written content, scripting, quizzes, videography, presenting to camera and managing editors.
• Ran AI upskilling workshops and webinars for enterprises, businesses and individuals.
• Built an automated video cutting pipeline outputting to DaVinci Resolve.
• Built automated scripting and quiz generation for course content, and an automated publishing pipeline pushing content live.
• Built a daily agent run that audits and updates live articles, using chained agents to verify factual accuracy and tone before anything ships.

Co-founder and Director

A fashion label I co-founded. I handle all digital aspects: brand, design, storefront, internal tooling and AI.

• Built a custom front end and back end on headless Shopify for every drop, 5 sites to date. See the previous ones.
• Built individual level customer analytics: session replays, cohort tracking over time, purchase rate and time on site, feeding predictive analytics for stock ordering.
• Built back end automations for order fulfilment, AusPost integrations, plus Shopify plugins for automated catalogue population and an automated photo edit and upload pipeline.
• Currently building custom animated customer avatars with a rewards and perks layer.
• Six figure revenue over two years, 1,000+ paying customers, 12.5k followers.

Ideation and development of new products and user experiences to diversify Coates' offering.

• Industry, product, consumer and technology research.
• Component sourcing and testing.
• Software and hardware development for proofs of concept, including Eagle Eye, an internal order accuracy computer vision tool for McDonald's.
• Product presentations to internal stakeholders and external clients.

Thesis: autonomous ultralight fixed-wing flight within a motion capture environment. 68 gram flight weight with robust PID capable of complex aerobatic manoeuvres.
